You're about to move off in a vehicle that has automatic transmission. What must you do before you select 'D' (drive)?
DVSA explanation
It's important to apply the footbrake before you engage 'D' (or drive), so your vehicle does not creep forward or roll back out of control when you're about to move away. This can be dangerous; for example, if there's another road user close behind.
